Located on the street of the same name (which in turn is named after the fascinating dynasty that ruled over Florence for three centuries, in case you didn’t know), the general location is as perfect as it gets in Florence - in the labyrinth of cobbled streets and lanes between the Duomo and Palazzo Signoria.

As well as the obvious attraction of budget lodgings in such a perfectly central spot, the 2 star Hotel Medici has an ace up its sleeve that some of the city’s luxury 4 stars cannot even boast - a rooftop terrace with bar that offers panoramic views over the rooftops of the city - encompassing of course the nearby Duomo.

The Hotel Medici is also quite large for its classification, so with 40+ rooms you’re not likely to be disappointed and rates are as good as they get for accommodation of this quality. You’re also afforded the privacy and freedom not always found in B&Bs, guest houses  or smaller establishments.
