The Hotel Columbus Rome is one of the most unique 4 star hotels in the eternal city thanks to the history of the very building that it occupies. Located right in front of St Peter’s Square on Via della Conciliazione – the stunning main street leading from the Vatican down to the River Tiber, the Hotel Columbus occupies the Palazzo della Rovere, a building commissioned in the 15th century by a well standing cardinal and relation of Sixtus IV.

The building was a noble residence and the seat of a line of holy knights before becoming a hotel in 1950 and this stunning architectural wonder still contains the original frescoes, ornately sculpted fountains and vaulted chambers that define it as a truly historical Rome accommodation.
