The budget Hotel Carmel in Rome’s trendy Trastevere district is the first hotel in Rome specifically geared toward welcoming Jewish guests to this great and historic city. Advertising full Kosher assistance and the availability of a Halavi kitchen, the owners promise to meet all Shabbat requirements. Breakfast is not included in the room rate but may be enjoyed at the bar next door.
As well as enjoying a choice location in the Trastevere quarter of Rome, the hotel is not far away from the area of the city known as the Jewish Ghetto, where during the time of Imperial Rome, the city’s Jewish residents were literally locked in at night. Today the area contains Rome’s great synagogue as well as a concentration of kosher restaurants and shops.
Rooms at the Hotel Carmel are pleasant and simple and immaculately clean. Standard facilities include air conditioning, en suite bathrooms, mini bar, hairdryer and safe deposit box. The hotel also has a serene inner courtyard garden. Pets are allowed on request. |
